Placement Test
With the CEFR-based Panoramic Placement Test we measure individual language proficiency and report the language map of schools and organisations.
Starting a language programme at the right point saves time and effort. A student placed below their level gets bored; one placed above it cannot keep up. That is why we run a placement test before every programme and report the result on the CEFR scale, the Council of Europe's common reference.

The result is more than a letter and a number: it is the starting point that shows which class you belong in and where the road to your goal begins.
What are the CEFR levels?
The CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is an international scale developed by the Council of Europe that describes language proficiency in six levels. Schools, universities, employers and examination bodies around the world use it as a shared language, and scores from international exams such as IELTS and TOEFL are mapped to these levels.
- A1 — Beginner
- Understands and uses familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases; can introduce themselves and others.
- A2 — Elementary
- Understands frequently used expressions on everyday topics; can exchange information on simple, routine matters.
- B1 — Intermediate
- Understands the main points on familiar topics; can handle most situations while travelling and describe experiences and plans.
- B2 — Upper intermediate
- Understands the main ideas of complex texts; can interact with native speakers fluently and naturally.
- C1 — Advanced
- Understands long, demanding texts; uses the language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.
- C2 — Proficiency
- Understands virtually everything heard or read with ease; expresses themselves spontaneously, fluently and precisely.

A language map for schools and organisations
Placement is not only for individuals. For schools we measure the distribution of students' levels; for organisations we assess employees' proficiency by department and report it as a “language map”. We run group assessments for organisations that want to screen candidates during hiring, take an organisation-wide “language X-ray” or plan their training needs.
